在元朝灭亡时的惨状与真相中，朱姓皇族为了躲避被诛杀的危险，不得不改姓逃亡。他们分成了四股，一部分从东门逃出的就改姓“东”，另一部分则奔向了河北省邢台大沙河间一个叫“褡裢”的小地方隐居落户。而一支东姓族人闯关东，从山东省海阳县来到了庄河青堆镇孔家村六吉屯定居。

六吉屯位于该镇西侧约5华里的地方，是一个普通的小村庄，但却盛传着一种说法：该屯的东姓人是明国皇帝朱元璋的后裔。最近，记者与庄河市文体局有关专家来到该村进行探访，初步证实了这种说法。目前，该村现有居民60多户，其中东 surname residents occupy over half of the households.

The villagers introduce that during the late Ming period, when peasant uprisings were approaching Beijing, the royal family members fled in panic. To avoid being slaughtered, they had to change their surnames: those who escaped from the East Gate became "Dong", those from the South Gate became "Nan", those from the North Gate became "Bei", and those from the West Gate became "Xi". Li Zicheng's rebel army attacked from the West Gate, so people who escaped through this gate were fewer in number.

Two branches of Dong surname descendants emerged: one group hid in a place called “Chedi” between Hebei and Shandong provinces, while another group settled in a village called Dongjiatun (now known as Dong Village) in Yanzhou County. The two groups eventually reunited and intermarried.

Recently, experts have confirmed that some 200 years ago, some Dong surname descendants migrated eastward from Yanzhou to Zhuanghe and settled down at Sixijiatun. This migration is believed to be linked to historical records showing that Jiajing Emperor of Ming Dynasty was said to have moved his capital eastward due to wars with Mongols around 400 years ago.

According to Zhang Dekun, culture director at Zhuanghe City Cultural Bureau, preliminary investigations confirm that Sixijiatun's Dong surname residents are indeed descended from Jiajing Emperor's family line. Their tradition of worshipping four directions every year has been passed down for generations as part of their customs which prove their ancestry.

Archaeologists also discovered evidence supporting this claim by examining local genealogy records and history books documenting how many Ming Dynasty officials sought refuge outside their native provinces after dynasties fell or emperors lost power during China's turbulent history since ancient times until today!
